It’s been a while since we’ve been in touch as we have all been coping with lockdown and the removal of our ‘being’ – that is organising some events for the community to get together. But the Fordingbridge Festival was due to happen on Saturday the 18th July and I wanted to send a note to say hello. For us as a committee, Saturday will be a weird day. Usually by this point, we are meeting fortnightly with sub sections of the committee and working party meeting pretty much every other day – we see a lot of each other in the run up to an event and I think the whole committee is feeling disappointed that we haven’t been able to run our main event, particularly as it means so much to many in the community.
We are still in a holding pattern as to what and when we will be able to do another community event. In the meantime, we are supporting the Shop Local/Keep the Heart Beating campaign, which has been set up by the local Fordingbridge shops as an ongoing initiative encouraging people to continue to support local business and help them recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. You can read more about the campaign in a recent news story in the Journal: https://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/news/18554610.keep-heart-beating-campaign-launched-fordingbridge/
Until we are able to meet again, stay safe.
Much virtual love,
Nicky and the Fordingbridge Events Group team
