Fordingbridge Events Group and Fordingbridge Town Council’s plans for the Jubilee picnic event will include a street party competition. All residents need to do to enter is take a photo of their street party – which can be taken at any time over the bank holiday weekend – and send it to [email protected] with a contact name and telephone number.
The deadline for submission is the 9th June 2022 and the entries will be judged by the new Mayor Anna Wilson.
Jubilee Picnic
The Jubilee Picnic in the Park will take place at Fordingbridge Recreation Ground on the 2nd of June from 3.30pm to 10pm to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The family event will include an afternoon of entertainment with several bands booked to play, a choir, fairground rides, Crazy Kev – who you may remember from the Fordingbridge Festival – as well as Best Disco taking us through seven decades of tunes.
The new town beacon will be lit at 9.45pm and Rotary will be running its duck race from which all proceeds will go into community projects. There will also be some stalls hosted by local community groups including Fordingbridge Museum and Avonway Community Centre.
The event is free to attend and more details about the timings for performances are here.
At the event, there will be a fully licensed bar and hot food provided by the sports club and The Crown and Mays, the butcher. You will also be able to pick up prepaid hampers from The George.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own picnic and clear up after themselves. Portable BBQs or open fires are not permitted.
